Ashley Miles Hired as Next Head of School

February 20, 2024

Lutheran High School East is pleased to announce that Mrs. Ashley Miles has been hired as the next Head of School.

In addition to currently pursuing her Doctorate in Education, Miles holds a Master’s degree in Education, a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, and an Associate’s degree in Elementary Education.

She comes to Lutheran East from Accel Schools in Akron, where she currently serves as the Executive Principal (Superintendent role) for two schools with a combined enrollment of over 700 students and a staff of 70 educators and support staff.

In her role with Accel, Miles has a proven track record of enrollment growth, strong and effective communication, positive school culture, optimization of curricular development, and improvement of overall student academic achievement.

Prior to serving as Executive Principal, Miles was Principal of a Akron Preparatory School. She successfully achieved the school’s enrollment goals, increased the school’s state report card rankings year after year, and developed a school culture in which students, faculty, staff, and families excelled together.

Miles has been employed in education for her entire career, also having worked as Assistant Principal/Dean of Students at Canton College Preparatory School (Canton, OH), and having worked for I Can Schools in Cleveland, Mid-Michigan Leadership Academy, and Goddard Schools.

She holds a number of professional certifications, including OPES (Ohio Principal Evaluation Certification), Ohio Teacher Evaluator, CPI (crisis prevention), NSLP (compliance protocols), Dyslexia certification through the State of Ohio, Principal License, and Wilson Reading Certification.

A faithful Christian, she is actively involved in her church, serving as her church’s first lady alongside her pastor husband. She manages the church’s youth programs, working with children ages preschool through high school to deepen their connection to the church, their sense of purpose and service, and above all, their relationship with Jesus. Her passion lies in faith education, believing strongly that when Christian faith and community intersect with a healthy academic environment, the potential for student achievement is at its highest.

Miles says, "I am overwhelmed with excitement and gratitude as I embark on this incredible journey as the new Head of School of Lutheran East. It is truly an honor and a blessing to serve in this capacity, and I am deeply thankful to God for entrusting me with such a significant responsibility. The prospect of leading and nurturing the next generation of young minds within the framework of faith and education fills me with immense joy. I am eager to foster an environment where students can grow academically, spiritually, and personally. With God's guidance, I am committed to upholding the values of Lutheran East and ensuring that our school continues to be a place of excellence, compassion, and spiritual growth. I am excited to work collaboratively with the dedicated board, staff, parents, and, most importantly, our wonderful students, as we navigate this journey together with faith, purpose, and a shared commitment to educational excellence.”

Superintendent & CEO of the Cleveland Lutheran High School Association and former Principal of Lutheran East, Chris Steinmann, says, "We are thrilled to welcome Ashley Miles into this crucial role. She is a standout educator; her commitment and dedication to fostering both a faith-based community and an academically excellent institution are evident in her track record and her demeanor. She is the person to build upon the momentum and success Lutheran East is currently experiencing, thanks in large part to the leadership of Mr. Andrew Prusinski. Mr. Prusinski, myself, our Board, and our administrative team are all confident that Mrs. Miles will be a blessing to Lutheran East and its students.”

Miles has three children, and shares that as avid basketball fans, her family could not be more excited about her new position with Lutheran East!

She will begin her tenure with Lutheran East following the current school year, in July 2024.
